Christmas 2011

Wow what a busy, fun season we had. I seriously couldn't remember a single thing that happened until I looked at my calendar from December and remembered all the events that happened. Sadly I took very few photos which explains why I don't remember what happened but I want to at least give a written record.
December kicked off with Jon's birthday then quickly the Christmas parties started up. My first one was the Relief Society Christmas dinner. My calling is activity leader for the Relief Society. It is seriously such a fun calling especially when you have awesome women with great experience that you work with. We had our dinner/program at the church buidling, I have to admit it was the most beautiful, spiritual activity I've helped to throw and even been to. It just came together so well, I can't believe I didn't snap a few photos. We finally figured out how to use the dimmers with Jon's help;), used lots of white twinkle light, tons of smaller fake trees, with large pictures of Christ around the room, and nativities set up in different areas. The tables had maroon toppers with large vases filled with bulbs and then a green garland around the bottom, with a few large wreaths at the door. An awesome woman in our ward made a back drop that looked like rock for the program. The program was the Women who knew Christ with some really amazing women who memorized their parts and some great musical numbers. We also had a delicious dinner with NY strip roast, baked potatoes, rolls, salad, punch and dessert. We had around 90 women show up and we got such wonderful feed back. I don't usually boast but we put a lot effort into it and it turned out fabulous, it was such a great feeling.
The Fulmer family started a new tradition last year of making gingerbread houses. So we kept it up this year out at Nicki and Jayson's house. I'm a little jealous Nicki already has ten times more decorating done in her house in a year than I've done in 6...oh well someday : ). We exchanged our kids gift exchange and ate a yummy dinner of BBQ meats from a local BBQ joint with some great treats Nicki made. My mom shocking also bought a chocolate cake for Dillon and Jon's birthday, she's so crazy about her cake. Everyone was too full from everything else to eat the cake but I'm sure my mom took care if at her house throughout the rest of the week with a fork staying in the box for a little bite each time she passed by.That same week we had our ward Christmas party which was a BBQ. Sadly we couldn't stay long because Scarlett was ready for a nap. We missed Santa. Scarlett didn't see Santa this year : ( I felt bad and I wanted the photo of her screaming on his lap. Oh well, there's always next year.
That night we had an super fun Ugly Sweater party with some of our friends from Jon's class. The hostesses(Heather and Valerie) made some delicious soup with bread bowls and amazing desserts. The cute hostesses had place cards for the dinner but all the boys served themselves first and all sat together. Such dental dorks, but it was fun catching up with all the girls I don't see enough of. We played a really hilarious game of Christmas Jeopardy which the girls won by the skin of our teeth oddly enough with the "Dental" category! We played a few other fun games and enjoyed each others company. I won the Ugliest sweater for the girls which isn't much of a surprise with how awful my outfit was I borrowed from Charlcie.The following week Lindsee had a Girls Christmas Party at her house. We've had a few craft/girls night as a group and it's been so nice to have a little girl time every now and again. We ate some yummy appetizers and desserts with tasty fun holiday flavored Jones Sodas. I loved the Jones sodas, I'll have to start buying those again. We socialized, pretty much a given with women, then played some pretty hilarious games. My favorite was the question game. It was a fun way to learn really random facts about friends. Also the white elephant gifts were pretty good with the calendar of hot guys with baby animals being the best gift.
The next night was our friends Lisa and Matt's party. They had some awesome Mexican food catered in and Lisa went all out with the adorable decorations. We ate and chatted with some pretty awesome friends. We're really going to miss Glendale when we have to move this summer.Christmas weekend we went out the East Valley of course and stayed out there going back and forth between the two family. All of Jon's family was able to come except for the Weiss's. We had tons of fun doing the traditional Christmas stuff- driving around looking at light, presents, dinners, family, Olsen Family Christmas party, movies, puzzles, kids being excited, grandparents house, games. The three little girls were adorable together, they make everything so fun.

Over the Hill

Jon has been claiming old man for some time now, so at least he can claim it somewhat accurately now that he's 30! This picture makes me laugh, he just looks like the total dork that I love with his military issued glass commonly referred to as BCG (birth control glasses).
I was hoping to throw a big shindig but I ended up going to my cousin Belinda's wedding in St. George on his birthday. It was fun girls trip with my mom, Nicki, Scarlett, and I. It was so fun seeing family and having the adventure of driving through snow and ice roads to get to the ceremony in a church building built in 1860's in Pine Valley just north of St. George. Belinda was a beautiful bride and Brad and her seem to be very happy which makes me happy. But I was disappointed I didn't make a bigger deal out his birthday. We went out to dinner to Oregano's before I left. Then he had made dinner the night we got back with his own double chocolate cake. That made me feel even worse that he had to make his own. Lame wife award, but it makes it easy when Jon couldn't care less.It was delicious, I think Jon ate almost the whole thing by himself! I guess he deserves it, I would probably do worse after a big birthday like that!
We also had a fun belated birthday celebration with Jon's family. Jody and Maddison were in town to hang out before baby number two pops out. They came with his parents out to Glendale for a dinner and a yummy chocolate cheesecake that Jody made. Me and Scarlett spent a few fun days playing with the Weiss's before they had to head back to the cold distant land known as Ohio.Everyone who knows Jon knows how truly awesome he is. I was just the lucky girl to happen to catch his eye and that he was willing to put up with my craziness. Now I get to enjoy life with him forever. Scarlett's a pretty lucky girl to have him as a daddy, she love him so much.

Scarlett's 1st Birthday!

Seriously what an awesome year! That's the best way I can put it. Scarlett has been such a great baby we are just so in love with her. Now I remember what we did the rest of Thanksgiving weekend we had Scarlett's party! ha
We had a party at my parents house to celebrate our wonderful little girls 1st year of life with family and a few friends. Thanks to everyone who was able to come and who helped with all the preparation I really appreciate it!
I don't think I could have asked for a better, sweeter, cuter baby to call my own. She brings so much joy into our life. Her little personality is really showing and I'm excited to get to be there first hand to enjoy all of it.
Our precious little thing who, like many babies, isn't in love with sitting still to take a picture. While preparing for the party, I was determined to bring my parents trampoline which weighs a billion pounds out front for the kids to play on. The wound on my toe shows that the trampoline won that battle and it stayed in the backyard. As we were trying to move it I stupidly wearing flip flops jammed the big toe and lost half of the nail. Not a pretty site or a good feeling, but it's recovering nicely. Probably a lesson for me to know that I can't always get my way. : )

So since I joined pinterest I went a little overboard trying to make a few crafts for her party(that looked simple and not time consuming, I was wrong). I just made the dots and the banners, Tempestt made the cute puffs for Brielle's party so I borrowed them.

It was fun going through her pictures over the past year and remembering all the fun times.

Yay for toys! I was being a mean mommy and not wasting my money on toys when a wooden spoon was her favorite thing to play with but she is just crazy for them. So we take more regular trips to the toys/book isle.
Mmm birthday cake! I made cupcakes and then a extra big cupcake for Scarlett. She was ready for a nap by this point and hadn't quite found her sweet tooth just yet (that's changed).

Thanksgiving 2011

Thanksgiving weekend was full of fun, food, and family as always. We are so grateful for the ability to get to see both of our families during the holidays. They make us smile.
We had dinner over at the Barnes with some of the extended Barnes family. Billy and Caitlin came down last minute which was certainly a great gain on our part. We had a delicious dinner (getting hungry thinking about it) outside in their backyard and just socialized.
After dinner we cruised over to my grandparents and had dessert and said hello to the Evans side of the family.

Kind of hard to get three kids to sit still and smile. This was the best we got. It's getting so much more fun when they get together they have so much fun. Scarlett's finally catching up!

The day after Thanksgiving Jenny, Jason and the girls came out for the weekend to visit! Hurray more family fun, the grandkids sure do make things more exciting.

We went on an outing to try to catch bugs for Caitlin's bug class. This is Billy dedicated to the hunt. It was so funny and I also love how it looks like he's catching the cloud.Billy's catch of the day! Scarlett was stocked about it too. She kept putting the vial in her mouth.

Scarlett has the best cousins. They just love having her around and she loves them. Sierra is seriously the sweetest to her, it melts my heart. It's too bad Madds couldn't join in the fun.
Since I'm playing catch up I can't quite remember what the details of the rest of the weekend were but I know we had fun.

Fulmer Hawaii Trip

My parents took all of us kids and spouses to Hawaii for a crazy, fun family vacation. To say it was the perfect most relaxing vacation would be a lie but we had a lot of really fun times and made some really great memories.

I'll just chronicle the events.
Saturday:
So we planned an early flight out to get the most out of the day there but sadly our trip started out a little rocky. Our flight was delayed because the plane needed a part. What started as a 3hour delay turned into a 6hour delay and we didn't find out there was any delay until we got to the airport. So travel time doubled, not super exciting but we were still pumped to get there.

That night we just got our rental cars, bought some food at Costco, and headed out to the North Shore to settle into our beach house.

Sunday:
If the flight delay wasn't bad enough we had to share the island with Obama and the whole APEC convention which meant there was a ton of road closures. And for those of you who are familiar with Hawaii there aren't that many freeways to take. We tried to head down to the south side to go hiking but half way there we got shut down and had to turn back around (we learned to check for road closures before we left anywhere).
Instead of hiking we did some shopping in the surf shops in Haleiwa then had lunch at Haleiwa Joes (eating was a really big part of this trip). It was good and so beautiful out, we sat on the open patio and just enjoyed the awesome weather.
After lunch we went to Sharks Cove and did a little snorkeling. It was fun but a little scary because we started in an area with a ton of sea urchins.
On our way home we picked up some ice cream and shaved ice. Good start to Hawaiian cuisine.
That night we hung out at the beach house playing games and enjoying the sound of the ocean. Which my dad mistook as a wind storm at night. It was a little loud being right next to the ocean but you got used to it after the first few nights.

Monday:
We went out on a catamaran in Waikiki to snorkel for sea turtles and take a cruise around the bay. Luckily no road closures until we got to Waikiki right as we were about to find parking the Chinese President was coming down the street so everything was stopped for about 15minutes and we were stuck. Jon liked watching the cars speed down the road with guys sticking out the windows with guns.

Then we cruised around on the net in the front of the catamaran, it was a pretty awesome feeling cruising along with the water rushing below you.

One of the hardest parts of the trip was getting the two vehicles to the same locations easily...
Cha wanted to go to Burger Paradise in Waikiki but parking was impossible so we ended up at L & L's for a quick lunch before our hike. She wasn't thrilled.

The drive to and from the southeast side where the trail was the most beautiful. It reminded me of Jurassic Park.

Tuesday:
We rented some surf boards and attempted to catch some waves. We stopped at what we thought was Chun's Reef but we were just down the beach from it. Not sure what beach we were at but the waves were breaking pretty far out so once we made it out we were too tired to actually catch much. Jon caught a few. Weston and I just chased some turtles around : )

More snorkeling! There were a ton of sea turtles in a little protected area. One came after my mom and she got pretty freaked out. haha
After all our hard work surfing and snorkeling we took a break to get some delicious haupia pie and lunch from Ted's Bakery (more food)

Then we split up and Jon, Nicki, Jayson and I went to the house to nap and the rest of the crew hit up another beach.

Wednesday:
The first half of the week was beautiful and sunny out but the second half was a little more overcast with a few hours of sun. But I was happy because it was better than a rainy November that people promised me.
First we hit up the Dole Plantation for a quick look around and some yummy pineapple ice cream (food makes me happy)

Then we ventured down to Honolulu to check out Pearl Harbor. No road closures this time but we got lost and had to turn around 10times at least, we were struggling, but we made it there and it was great. I had never been to Pearl Harbor Memorial and it was very well done and Jon was in heaven with all the war history.
We took the boat ride out to the sunk Arizona.

That night we went out to eat again at Breakers and had some yummy fish and chips and Mahi Mahi dish. (why did we go to Costco?)

Thursday:
The boys and my mom all went deep sea fishing out of the North Shore. I guess it's not the best time of year for fishing (go figure) but they caught 3 ahi tuna and 1 ono (which means delicious and it was!). Jayson and Jon grilled them up that night and they were awesome.
While they were off in the ocean the rest of us girls went to Waimea Falls and did the paved hike through the botanical gardens to the water fall. It was fun just chatting and enjoying the beauty and the nice day. I hopped into the water at the falls but the other girls were too cold . There was lifeguards on duty, it was pretty funny.
Once everyone joined back up we headed over to where the surf competition was supposed to be happening the week we were there. Since the waves were too small the competition wasn't able to start, it was a bummer. I was looking forward to seeing the crazy waves. The boys attempted to catch a few waves again with the little ripples that were breaking. Then we went to claim some more shaved ice. It was so tasty and we got it for free at the surf shop for renting the boards.

Friday:
I finally found the acai bowls that I'd heard about. I wish I had found them sooner that were heaven in a bowl for sure.
We ate at this yummy sandwich shop next to the juice shop where we found the acai bowls. Then we headed down to Laie to see the Temple.

So pretty, but a bit windy with some little rain drops coming down.

After the temple we drove over to the lookout in Laie.Then you got it..more food. We ate at Sharks Cove Grill.
Then went to hang out at the beach again.
Saturday: Our last day. Such a sad day on a trip. We attempted to go to the Swap Meet before we had to fly out but just our luck it was closed that day. So we ended up at the airport earlier than planned and hung out.

Hawaii is such an amazing place that just represents lazy days. We hope to go back again soon!

Thanks to Bruce and Karen for watching our sweetie Scarlett for the week. We know she had a blast, and we were so happy not to have to worry about her for one second.

Play catch up on the past few months...
This past Halloween season was one of busiest one yet. There was so many celebrations and we really got into the spirit. Thanks for everyone who planned and partook in the many events we had a blast.

Our dental friends Jessica and Nate threw their second Murder Mystery party. This years was western themed if you couldn't tell. This was the groups second murder mystery party and everyone got really into their characters it was so much fun. Jon actually got murdered too pretty hilarious to watch Mike try to pick his limp body off the ground. Jessica and Nate did an amazing job turning their apartment into a saloon, seriously amazing with all the details.

1920's Murder Mystery
Bobbie and I decided to throw our own murder mystery party with some ward friends. It was a 1920's night club with mobsters and flappers. It was a lot of fun getting everything together for the party, but quite a challenge finding decade appropriate decor. We tried to make it as realistic as possible. It turned out really good but I don't think the pictures do it justice. Everyone was a little confused since it was everyone's first murder mystery but still fun to see everyone dressed up playing a part.

Some of the girls and I took the kiddos to a pumpkin patch/petting zoo in North Phoenix. We had a lot of the fun, the kids loved the animals and all the random things they had to play on there.

My mom threw our usual Fulmer Family Pumpkin Carving Contest. Of course it didn't disappoint. It was especially exciting because it was our first free sugar day of the month of October. To get ready for Hawaii we did a sugar free October which was just no added sugars like candy, soda, treats you know what I live on : ). So it was a pretty tough month but worth it. So we went all out at the party over eating on all the treats and soda.
There are tons of cute pictures but I'm limiting them since I have way too much to catch up on.

Yet another Halloween party was a few families in our ward The Proudfits and the Christiansen's threw a party that we went as the Flintstones. (yes I made these too, it was a busy month for the sewing machine)

Scarlett also went to a kiddie party on Halloween at our friend Brooke's house. The kids were so cute dressed up. I have a feeling I'm going to be getting more into Halloween in the years to come.

Sedona

Jon took a few days off of school to go to a dental convention in Vegas but everyone else backed out so he decided to hang out with the fam instead which always makes us happy. We went to check out the nicer weather up in Sedona with Bruce and Karen. It worked out perfectly for us all on a last minute whim.
We drove up Tuesday and ate lunch at the Javelina Mexican restaurant out on the patio. It was beautiful out and oh so yummy. I was craving a Pepsi pretty bad but resisted. Then we went down to the Bell Rock Trail for a leisurely bike ride with Scarlett hitched on to the back of Jody and Dieters $3 yard sale bike. So the trail proved to be a little more labor intensive but it was still fun and we burned off our lunch. Scarlett loved it. It was so cute when it was particularly bumped you could hear her making making humming sounds so she could hear her voice being bounced around.

After our hike we checked into our hotel (which never charged me for our room, awesome, second time that's happened in Sedona, we're like Royalty there I guess). They had a heated pool so we decided to take a dip. It was perfect and Scarlett had a blast throwing her face in the water and taking big gulps. She doesn't really like being held either she thinks she can swim already.

That night we had a lighter dinner at the Wildflower Breadcompany. It was chiller out so just cool enough to have a little bite in the air and for a light sweater. In love. We ate dinner by their fire place and watched all the goofy locals socializing in their gross toe shoes. Then we called it a night with a few episodes of pickers. We all settled in for bed only to realize just how bad Bruce's snoring is. : ) We all made it through the night, Bruce a few hours in the cold car with no blanket.
The next day we packed up and heading up Oak Creek Canyon and hiked West Fork, which is one of the most popular hike in Sedona. Which we quickly realized when the parking lot was full on Wednesday. It was a beautiful hike and well worth parking on the canyon road.
Karen was fixed on "saving" every little caterpillar on the trail. She would stop and scoop it up and put it on the side of the trail so it wouldn't get squished by hikers. There is soon to be at least 20 more butterflies in the world because of Karen. : )

She wasn't super into napping on our trip, she didn't want to miss anything but you can tell she's pretty relaxed here.

Our first mishap with Scarlett's earrings. Her headband got caught on the back so we had to take her earring out for the first time to get it out. She didn't want to hold still.

We didn't make it to the end of the 3 mile trail. We went about half way and decided we'd seen enough prettiness. Maybe next time we'll make it the whole way.
We had lunch/dinner and headed back to Glendale. It was a very successful quick trip. So glad Scarlett's traveling better now that she's not teething as much. Thanks for coming with us Bruce and Karen!

Birthday Dinner for Weston and Nicki

Weston's 23rd birthday was the end of December and Nicki's 28th birthday was the beginning of October so they got a joined birthday dinner. We went to Spinatos a pizzaria place in Tempe. It was pretty good. We had a good time, as usual.

Mountain Biking!

New found hobby! Jon's been trying to get me to be a biker for years but I gave road biking a chance and wasn't into it. A few girlfriends were mountain bikers so with some persuasion I decided to give it shot. And what do you know I love it! We try to go at least once a week. It's super nice out in Glendale too with all the hills so close by and now with the weather cooling off.Our little biking crew Lisa, Bobbie and Me at Sonoran Mountain Preserve.

Girls Weekend!

Jody and Jenny came into town with their cute little girls a few weeks ago and we had fun hanging out. All the girls are getting big so fast and becoming such great friends. Scarlett is finally able to play with them a little bit more. She still has some growing to do to keep up but she'll get there soon. Sierra just adores her and it's the cutest. Of course I didn't get very many pictures. Check out Jody's blog for some much better pics of the trip.

Scarlett recently started doing this mostly at meal time, she'll do it randomly other times but the majority of the time it's while I'm trying to feed her anything. Her main sources of food intake comes from her picking it up and put in her mouth herself. It seems like her determined, independent personality is started to show up already. We think it's pretty cute though.
Other Scarlett updates:
Scartlett's just over 10 months now with her birthday just around the corner.
She's cruising around pretty quick crawling. She's definitely getting more adventurous exploring the house on her own and playing by herself with whatever she finds that is interesting.
She'll sit and watch about 10minutes of Sesame Street but then will stay in the living room crawling around until it's over.
She loves playing with/around other kids, she gets so excited.
She loves pulling herself up onto anything and will stand for a little while by herself but then will sit or lean forward onto her hands.
She loves mandarin oranges they are her favorite. She is doing really well picking up her food and feeding herself.
She has a lot of new teeth to help with her table foods. She has all four on top and three on bottom.
Her nick names are Little Sweetie from Grandpa Fulmer, Little Bug, Scarletto, Baby Girl, Sweetheart. You know the usual.
She loves making noises including grunts, growls, squeals, buzzes her lips, yelps, monkey oohs, and many more that make me laugh.
We finally moved her crib down to it's lowest level because she's started climbing over the backs of couches so we knew it would only be a matter of time before we found her out of her crib.
She's starting to have random adult farts, now we can start blaming our toots on her.
She loves kisses and I feel like she understands what you mean when you tell her kisses.
She's still not much of a snuggler she will only if she's half asleep but we cherish those few minutes.
She's sleeping great usually from 8pm to 8am with one good 2hr nap in the am and one afternoon ranging from 1-2hrs.
She's ticklish just like her daddy.
She loves to talk super loud every where we go. People just love her.
She'll still wear the silly bows I put on her head and only pulls them off every so often.
I feel like she's no longer my baby even though she can't walk or talk she's just so big and independent it makes me sad to know she'll never be my little baby ever again, even though she still is. But she's super fun and animated now which makes her super fun to play with. Daddy loves playing peek a boo and chase with her.
She crawls right to daddy when he gets home and is super excited to see him.
She has such a great laugh and smile with her chubby cheeks.
I guess that's enough for now....
I just love my baby girl, she makes me so happy.

San Francisco and Sacramento Vacation

So last week our family was lucky enough to take a week long trip to northern California to see some sites and visit our good friends the Jeppesens. It was a very fun memorable trip but we became very aware how much more difficult traveling with kiddos is. It all started the weekend before we left Scarlett got a temperature of 102 for the entire weekend and was cutting her upper tooth. But the night before we left she was finally down to a normal temperature and seeming to act better so we thought we were in the clear. We were wrong. Scarlett didn't sleep much at night for the first half of the week which means neither did we which made site seeing and walking around San Francisco a little less awesome. But still well worth it just next time she may be staying at one of her grandparents house.Scarlett helping unpack at the hotel.
Our first day in San Fran was the roughest the airport forgot to load our stroller on the plane so we just went to the hotel to let Scarlett nap then we went and picked it up. We were anxious to go walk around a bit so we just headed out to find some Chinese food for dinner. We headed into Chinatown Area. I let Jon pick...last time that happened. : ) He decided for more authentic Chinese food and we definitely got that. Soo gross and flavorless. We had to stop at Del Taco to fill up. On our way we saw a few naked men in a big protest marching down the street. A little scary.
Day two was much better, still low on sleep and patience for Scarlett because she wouldn't take her bottle or eat much but we saw a lot of fun things. We started by catching the bus not knowing exactly where it would take us. Amazingly we got off right in front of the restaurant we were trying to get to. A tender mercy for us at the time.
Us at Squat and Gobble the food was AMAZING as well as the server so helpful and friendly, I would have gone there everyday! All of the food we had in San Fran was so good (besides the Chinese food). Thanks everyone for all your awesome suggestions. The food was one of my favorite things in the city along with how friendly everyone was. I was thinking people would be rude to tourist but it was the complete opposite. A guy was running to catch a bus saw us looking at our map, stopped to ask if we needed directions.
After our late breakfast we headed down to Ghirardelli Square. We had some yummy ice cream and bought Scarlett some cute toys from a little toy shop in the square Lola's.
They also had a cupcake shop named after me : ) They must have known I was coming!Jon and I down by Fisherman's Wharf and Hyde's Pier. Jon really loved the boats and all the history. It was neat but got chilly.
We took the boat tour around the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz. Very cool but the fog made it difficult to see the bridge the whole time we were there.
That night we drove over the Golden Gate Bridge to Saucalito for dinner at Sol Food food a Puerto Rican Restaurant. It was so tasty. Thanks again Kels for all your help! They used plantains in a lot of their foods which is basically more starchy bananas. I want to try to make some food with them and see if I can mimic it.
Third day we used our rental car instead of public transit. Made things a little easier on us. We ate lunch at a yummy pizza shop Tony's.
Then drove down Lombard's windy street. Some of their crazy hills made you feel like you were going up and down a roller-coaster. I don't think my old car could cut it there.

Getting to Kass and Nate's was a relief because Scarlett finally was acting normal being in a house with space to play and move.

Thursday we got lunch and took it down to the river by them. We just talked and walked around very relaxing.
The next day Jon and I went down to the Jelly Belly Factory to see how jelly beans are made. It was fun.
Scarlett didn't like it when we first put the hat on her. Oh the tears.
That night we went to watch Julia play soccer. It was entertaining to watch her running around the field doing karate moves and being the goofy girl we know and love.

The next day we went out to Tahoe to check things out. We had lunch at a yummy burger joint Izzy's. Then we headed down to Zephyr Cove to hang out on the beach. We found out we were joining a big frat party for people too old to be in college. The water at least was beautiful and it was a nice day.

After the beach we went to more family friendly park away from the frat party. The kids played around.

Sunday we drove back to San Fran to fly home. We were able to stop at the Golden Gate Park before we had to catch our flight. It was gorgeous with so much in it. We just wish we had more time to explore it. While we were there there was a cricket game going on and a group of random people mostly bums joined together with instruments for a none stop jam session. You can see them over Jon's shoulder.
We were happy we able to do as much as we did in northern California but I know there was so much more for us to explore. We'll have to go again. Thanks again to Kass and Nate for letting us come hang out with you guys!

You know how you think your parents are perfect when you're little but then generally as you grow up you realize that's not quite true. I guess I've been "slacking" according to my followers so here's some updates...I better see some comments: )

Lake Powell
We had our annual Lake Powell trip with the Fulmer family over the fourth of July. It was so fun as usual, this time we had around 36people there so it was busy but fun to see everyone. With all the cousins getting married and having kids our family is getting big fast. We started out the trip with my mom taking Weston to the ER when we got to Page. He was having trouble breathing from a torn/pulled muscle+too little sleep+too much exertion=after xrays and nothing broken the dr just telling him to rest and my dad super pissed for wasting money. Ha But luckily no one got hurt and everything went really well at the lake.

Last Summer Break of Dental School!

One more year!! It’s kind of hard to believe and I’m already getting sad to move since I really enjoy living in Glendale but Jon is in his fourth year of dental school and we will be moving to a distant land that the Air Force will decide in the next year. We’ll just have to make the most of our time left living the sweet life as students in Glendale.

Lake Pleasant Outing

To celebrate Jon and our friends who are also students finishing another year of school we decided to borrow my parent’s boat and spend a day on the lake. I was a little nervous what with 6 kids going all 2 years old and under. But they did wonderfully and we had such a nice fun day out on the lake with friends. I’d never been to Lake Pleasant before and was pleasantly surprised (no pun intended). The water was much bluer than the lakes that I’m used to out in the east valley. I would have hoped for smoother water but you don’t always get it all.

California

For the remainder of Jon’s break we took our first family trip with Scarlett to California. It was such a nice trip spending time with friends and family. First stop was in San Diego with Kassidi and Nathan and their kiddos. We had a special treat of spending time with their new little guy Axel before they move up to Sacramento this month (we will miss them but hopefully it will mean a trip to San Francisco to visit them!!)We also were happy to get to visit with Tempestt, Brandon, and Brielle, as well as Christa and Diana. San Diego held so many of friends I’m glad we were able to see them all!

Then we went to Jenny and Jason’s for the later part of the week to see Jason graduation from the Fullerton Police Academy and attend Sierra’s and Whitney’s Princess Birthday party. It’s such a fun time seeing the little girl cousin’s playing together. And Sierra is still in love with Scarlett it’s the cutest thing. We were able to squeeze a day in at Huntington Beach eating Ruby’s and playing some sand volleyball. We also had the pleasure of spending the day with Aaron and Michelle since they were out visiting family as well. I don’t know if we’ve ever had such a successful trip of seeing so many people so smoothing it was great.

What’s new with Scarlett

Well she is 6month already and has been sitting up on her own very well for the past month or so. My favorite is to sit her up in her crib and see her dark little eyes looking out at me from the top of her crib. She just sprouted two bottom teeth, I believe O and P according to Dentist Daddy, which has been making her slightly moodier (and me when she takes a snap at me) but not too much. Just a few more grunts and a few less smiles these days. She purses her lips to baby food and cereal, but I keep trying. She’s becoming more active wanting to grab at everything. She doesn’t roll much if at all really anymore she’s happy just to sit up which I’m fine with as well. She’s very chatty with lots of yelling getting many visitors at the stores when we’re out shopping. Still such a fun relaxed little girl we just love having around.

My front yard looking very very dead. Love. The beautiful weather and all out door activities there is to do in AZ. Hate. When it gets to hot to do them but then it's just time to move to water sports which I also love.Hate. When the trash guy won't pick up my tree trimming and leaves me with a full trash for another week. This looks totally legit right? : )
Love. When my flowers don't die and stay looking pretty for a long time!
Love. Planting a Spring garden.
Hate. When only one of the seeds sprouts! What am I doing wrong?

Ok updates about our beauty queen aka Scarlett. Took her to her 4month check up a few weeks ago, here's how she measured up.
Height: 24 1/2 in 50%
Weight: 13.2lb 25%
Head Circumference: 16 1/2in 75%
So like every mother before me I too can't believe how fast she is growing and changing (she will be 5months next week!). She is super cute and makes me so happy to be her mom. Here's a few of the latest and greatest in her developmental world. She's starting to get more control of her hands now grabbing more at toys and putting everything in her mouth, she also enjoys sucking on her hands constantly. She's really started to find her voice making chirps, squeals, and laughs with big smiles while she lays in bed entertaining herself or when I play with her, makes me love her more and more. She seems to recognize people alot more now as well, like when she see's Aunt Charlcie she usually cries.ha not always ; ) Also when she's getting upset before she cries she'll stick out her bottom lip super far, I laugh every time it's just so sweet. I hope to get it on film soon. She likes her bed time stories. She's also constantly doing a sit up, and loves to be helped up into sitting or standing position. No rolls on purpose yet just some accidental ones from stomach to back but she's starting to twist around on her back so I'm sure it won't be long. She also started lifting her legs up and grabbing her toes (true yoga baby pose style) last month and I just think it's the cutest thing ever. We started feeding her cereal at four months and she did great but I decided I wanted to wait a little while longer to start foods full force, possibly next month. I think that's about it. We put her in her crib in her room starting at 3 months and it's been going great so far. She's slept through quite a few nights but most nights still cries at least once for her pacifier then goes straight back to sleep once it's securely in her mouth. Her hair is also starting to grow in thicker and it's all pretty much the same length which is convenient. That's about it, still the best baby I could have asked for. Of course here's an overload of all of her latest photo shoots.So precious!

3 Months Already!

My sweet baby girl turned 3month on Sunday. I'm amazed at how fast time has gone by and how much she has grown and changed. I took her to the doctor last week to get her shots. She cried when she got the shots of course but seemed fine afterward. That is until about 3 hours later she had a really rough time screaming uncontrollably for about 3 hours. Poor thing slept for 3 hours after that then was back to normal. I'll definitely give her Infant Tylenol before hand next time.

I don't think I can say how much I love her, she's just such a sweet little blessing.

Oh and yesterday was Jon and I's 6th Anniversary! My big present was Scarlett pooping after 2 long weeks. She was loving the prune juice I gave her and it worked like a charm.
Jon and I also went out to eat at Brio while the girls (Cha and Britt) watched Scarlett. Dinner was really good, we just picked it randomly while we drove around Kierland area. The food was great but we were the youngest couple there by about 40 years. I guess we are getting older so that's suitable that we would pick the senior center restaurant.
Jon is a wonderful husband and always has been, thanks for a wonderful past 6 years!

Who needs snow or water?

So our family headed up to my grandparents cabin in Alpine for a little snow vacation. Too bad there was no snow when we got there and no running water...The snow and water decided to show up a few days later. We still had a good time of course but it could have been a little smoother being able to flush toilets and take showers and all. : ) Scarlett did a great job on her first road trip, but all she wanted to do the whole trip was sleep. That's ok with me but everyone was missing her.
We played volleyball w/ no snow, then badminton once it did snow, games, movies, fudge shop, you know the usual cabin trip.
Half the group had to go home Sunday but the rest of us went snowboarding on Monday at Sunrise. It was probably one of the best times we've been to Sunrise because it had snowed the day before and there was hardly anyone there. I feel like I'm pretty confident in my snowboarding skills, finally, but I some how managed to run into a girl which sent me toppling down the mountain. My mom was nice enough to watch Scarlett for me to go, my mom came out about half way through the day so my mom decided to take a run down on the snowboard. She did great for her first time snowboarding.

Obsessed!

Is it hard to guess what a new mom is obsessed with? No, not really it's my baby girl, she's obviously the cutest thing ever and me and Jon just can't get enough of her! Scarlett's starting to smile more, cooing and talking more and still really strong at standing and holding up her head. Here's a few things I'm loving most about her right now: i love how she has man burbs just by sitting her up after a feeding, i love how she whimpers like a puppy when we're done nursing, i love how she can play with her swing friends forever and if mommy can't make her happy her friends always can, i love nakie baby seeing those cute chubby rolls getting bigger by the minute, i love how instead of lifting her head up at tummy time she just sucks on her hand, i love how her farts smell worse than Jon's. I just love everything about this little girl she's just so precious I could eat her up. (Jon's already asking about when we're going to have another one, whoa boy slow down).

(Another side note: I was just noticing that most these pictures she has her pj's on but I just wanted to say I do get her dressed everyday, I should start taking more pictures of her all dressed up.)

Starting to love bath time. We just love nakie baby.This is our other most recent obsession. Ultimate Chocolate Lovers cookies. Don't worry they're only 170kcal each and we've only had them most nights of the week for the past few weeks. It's getting out of control but I'm definitely obsessed. Good thing me and our roomies go running a few nights a week.
Also I just wanted to add that on January 6th 2010 Jon gave Scarlett a beautiful blessing. I feel so lucky to have them both in my life. Also so lucky to have such wonderful family to come and join in the day with us. Thanks again to everyone who came out we really enjoyed having you on our side of the Valley. Bruce took some beautiful pictures of our little princess that I hope to get from him soon. I was loving the dress I decided on for her too, it was just too cute with the bonnet which she didn't mind like I thought she would.

Scarlett Renee Barnes 11.27.2010

Here she is, a little overdue. Scarlett Renee Barnes our little sweetie was born November 27th at 8:50am (sharing a b-day with Grandpa Fulmer). Weighing in at 7lb 1oz. 20.5in long. We are so blessed to have such a sweet little spirit to call our own.

So the birth story...
Scarlett was a perfect pregnancy and delivery and now she's a perfect baby, I hope all my kids are just like her! During my pregnancy I never had morning sickness, never threw up, was as active as I wanted to be, worked until she was born. It was great! Then as for the delivery my water broke the week before she was due, I never had any contraction not even a braxtin hicks so I never had to worry if I was going into labor or not. It was the Friday after Thanksgiving, we were down in Queen Creek hanging out with Jon's family. We decided to go home Friday night instead of staying out there, luckily since it's an hour drive, I would have been freaking out. We got home at 9pm, we went to bed around 10pm, I got up to go the bathroom around 11pm felt a little funny. I laid down in bed and thought something was going on then I felt a pop. I ran to the bathroom to have a gush of water go all over the bathroom floor (better than in my bed). Then the contractions started coming on pretty quickly about ever 3 to 4 minutes but I knew they couldn't be strong enough to be the end of the road but I still started to freak out alittle. Luckily Jon kept me cool, he packed the hospital bag (since I hadn't done it yet). We checked into the hospital at 12:30am and I was at 2cm which is what I was at at my Wednesday appointment so I thought it was going to take a long time. I was put in my room and asked for my epidural right away since I wasn't really prepared to handle the contractions. Got the epidural at 3:30am by this point I was dilated to a 4, the Dr was great I hardly felt a thing and it worked like a charm. So then it was just the waiting game. We drifted in and out of sleep for the next few hours. The nurse came in to check on me at 7am and I was dilated to a 9/10 so she said we could start pushing in the next hour or so. My dr wasn't on call for the holiday weekend so Dr. Hu was the dr who delivered her, he was great. I started pushing around 8:30am and she was out about 6 contractions later. She slid right out with out any trouble. Seriously so easy. Now she's been a great baby sleeping and eating pretty well.
Jon is such a great dad, just as I anticipated. He loves to spend time with his little girl and she loves hanging out with him.
Just snoozing looking adorable as can be. She is growing so fast I just can't believe it. I just want to her to stay tiny forever! She's already 7wks old. This is just the first of many more posts about Scarlett! I can't wait!

Christmas and New Years 2010

Scarlett's first Christmas was so much fun. She really makes everything just a little bit sweeter, the whole family can't get enough of her.
We spent the weekend down in Chandler with the Fulmer Family. Scarlett and her two second cousins Reed and Brielle had a fun photo shoot together. The kids weren't really wanting to cooperate but it was still fun and we got some funny shots. Here is Scarlett being the Elf.

The Fulmer's still like to do presents like we're kids, it's fun. This next picture shows a very funny scene. So Charlcie like's to write long letters in her cards and my dad was sitting there "reading" the card but somehow still opened the present that was meant to go to my mom. It's the shirt she's holding up and he was like alright a disco shirt. We all are dying laughing the card had said to the Best Mom ever and my dad thought it said Best Man. Then he opens his real present from Cha and it's a money purse so he starts laughing and we are all rolling. You really had to be there and know how goofy our family can be.

When we finished opening presents Weston called for the last time from Columbia. He comes home in ONE WEEK from today. I can hardly believe it. We are so excited to see him.
Here's our new roomies, Brittney and Cha moved in last week to go to hair school in Phoenix. They are only here during the week then go back home on the weekends but it's fun to have the girls around. We started jogging together and it's nice to have an extra pair of hands when Scarlett is wanting to be held.
We had dinner over at my Grandpa and Grandma Evans. It's always nice to get all the family back together. We used to get together at least once a month when we were all neighbors, now it's down to the major holidays. Speaking of the neighborhood they are scheduled to demolition the whole thing this next week. It will be sad to see it go. We have been cleaning out the houses all week and had a big yard sale last week that was a pretty big hit. My mom's bargaining skills could use some help though.

Then for New Years we spent the weekend at the Barnes'. Jon's brother Billy and his wife Caitlyn came into town to hang out. It was a nice relaxing weekend spent watching a lot of movies and playing games.

For New Years Eve Jon's Uncle Kent and his wife Nina were in town and Nina had all sorts of traditions that we got to join in on. We did everything to please the white metallic rabbit, since this new year is the year of the white metallic rabbit, notice the rabbits in the picture. It was all pretty entertaining, now we'll have good fortune thanks to Nina!
My parents joined in the festivities. My dad isn't much of a partyer but he agreed to come since he knew Scarlett would be there.

This Fall

How do you like our fall harvest!? Jon is doing a great job tending his garden. He is so cute, he goes out to water and check on it everyday. He's so proud of it and I'm proud of him. If it were up to me I would probably be fruitless.
So this fall has been a busy one. Hopefully once our little girl is here I'll become more regular with my blog posts. This is a long one! With kind of lame photography, I need to get better at taking pics.
So last month we had a crazy hail storm with golf ball size hail. Both our cars got some pretty good dents. I took advantage of our insurance and got mine fixed and it also got my car a new paint job and we FINALLY replaced the bumper (it's only been a year and a half since I took it out with a rocking chair in the road). Isn't she a beauty now! Now I won't feel quite so trashy driving my baby around in it. Jon's car is next.

Oh Halloween such a fun time of year! Of course we had our annual Fulmer Family Pumpkin carving contest. Mines the winking cat and Jon's is pregnant crazy me on the right.

My work got pretty into Halloween. It was pretty funny. They had all sorts of contests and games. This is part of the Wellness team. If you can't tell we are an 80's work out video. I don't think we won but it was still fun to dress up at work.
The weekend of Halloween we hung out with Bobbie, Brian and Finn. We went to the ward Trunk or Treat and then to some friends the Liddell's for some yummy caramel apples. It was a lot of fun. Poor Finn was not loving his doggie costume.

There was an abundance of showers as well.
First my family threw me a baby shower in Chandler. It was such a fun time seeing all my family and friends. More wonderful baby girl goods. We are seriously so blessed. We appreciate everyone's generosity.

Then a few weeks later some wonderful friends from our Glendale ward threw me my last baby shower. Bobbie and my visiting teachers Ashley and Lindsey, you girls are the best, it was such a great shower. Bobbie is so creative and cute her house was adorable. I seriously couldn't ask for better friends out here.

November was Nicki's month! Again I took zero pics at her shower so this was stolen from Charlcie. We had fun we did the video with Jayson asking him questions about Nicki and they're relationship. Nicki's mouth was pretty stuffed full of gum for answering them wrong, but I think they're still a good match.

We started out with dinner at BJ's restaurant then moved on to Melissa's house for games, dessert, and presents. It was a really fun night out! Thanks everyone for coming and playing!

So this weekend was Nicki's wedding, my mom was worried the whole time that I would have our baby beforehand but we made it through babiless. I did give her a scare by texting her that my water broke the morning of the wedding. I'm sure she thought it was hilarious. Nicki's wedding was at Regency Gardens in Mesa. It was perfect weather and a really nice ceremony and reception. Everything was beautiful, especially Nicki, she looked great. (I can't believe I don't have a single picture) The only negative thing was the people running the place were a little unfriendly but it wasn't too bad, they just seemed like we were inconveniencing them or something. I'll have to post some pictures when I steal them from other people. A lot of our family from Utah was able to make the trip down for the wedding as well. So we were able to spend some time with them. Which any time with the Fulmer's is always a party. We went to the race track on Friday to watch my dad race. He won one of his races so we got in the winner's circle picture my aunt Daryl was killing me she gets so excited. We even placed a bet too and won some sweet mullah. The rest of the weekend was just spent hanging out and eating all the excess food my mom bought for the wedding. She bought 60lbs of meat and we had two whole sheet cakes left! There was so much extra food.

This weekend I was able to catch breakfast with my fav fellow dietitians at Crackers our usual meeting place. It's always fun to catch up! Can't wait until next time.
That's me at 38wks along. We are coming to the close of this pregnancy. We are definitely ready to meet our little girl. Even though the nursery isn't ready, it will be some day. At my last doctors appointment I was one centimeter dilated and mostly effaced. I'm hoping she stays in my tummy until after Thanksgiving just for birthday purposes, I think it would be fun if her and Jon had the same birthday (Dec 3rd). I'm still feeling good. Only a little hip pain and peeing every few hours at night. She is feeling pretty tight in there too so the only worry I have is how big she'll get after feasting all last weekend and this upcoming weekend. My dr hasn't said anything about her being a 10lb baby or anything so I'm hoping she's still on the normal size.

Well the next time I post it will probably be to announce our baby girl to the world! How exciting! I can't wait : )

Barnes Baby Shower and More!

Things have seemed extremely busy lately. But even if I do nothing I still feel the ever pressing matter of a baby on the way. Looking back over my calendar over the past two months there has been several things going on each week but not many of them blog worthy…ok maybe some. This is a long one.

Quick overview for August:

after the wedding trip we had a couple fun BBQ's over at Bobbie and Brian's, that grill has already gotten some good use in the few short months it's been in your home : ) Thanks for the good grub and fun times! I'm feeling some BBQ withdrawals.
Nicki had a Glitter Toe party, my toes were sparkly for weeks, thanks Nicki, but some what difficult to get off, the nail salon lady was chastising me the whole time she was taking them off.

Quick overview for September:

I went on my first work trip, I felt so grown up. It was just a quick overnight trip to Denver, CO. It was a work site Biometric Screening Event. I got to talk to some of our members in person and talk to them about their lab results and how to work on them through diet and exercise. It was fun working with the people but the quick flight in and home made me exhausted. And my feet swelled up so bad from walking in the airport with heels.
We were able to host a wedding open house for our friends in Glendale Aaron and Michele. It was a lot of fun, it turned out really nice (from no work on my part, Aaron's family did it all) and their family was so sweet. We're so excited for you two!! Oh and they also found a baby rattle snake in our driveway, so beware walking around our house.
Jon's awesome mom and sisters threw me a Barnes side Baby Shower! It was so much fun I seriously love my in-laws, girl stuff is so much fun to get too, especially when Jon’s family is so crafty. I can't wait to meet her and have her try on all her cute outfits and accessories. Thanks Jenny for driving into town with your two little ones and Jody for being such a trooper even though you felt pretty lousy and for everyone for coming.

Maddison also had her big 1^st Birthday Party that same weekend. She is so darn cute, she is starting to walk around a lot, with some assistance, but she’s right on the brink. I love how well she did with getting excited over the presents; cake wasn’t a big surprise to her though she’s no stranger to sweets.

My work threw me a baby shower as well; it was so sweet of them! I work with such a great group they really make work a lot more fun and enjoyable. What would you expect from a wellness group? There is virtually no drama, at least not between the staff, it’s great, my kind of work environment.

October already…

We celebrated Nicki’s 27^th Birthday last weekend! She’s such a fun sister, I couldn’t ask for anything better. We went to dinner at Kona Grill with her and Jason and our parents; the rest of the Fulmer clan was out of town. Then went home for some treats.

My mom planted a box garden and graciously bought extra materials for us to make one too. Jon put it together this weekend and is going to seed it this week. I can’t wait to have homegrown carrots, spinach, lettuce, and whatever else Jon puts in.

We also bought a crib this weekend, which for me has been quite the ordeal even though my mom gave me money to buy one. Why I make everything so difficult I don’t know. But we got it used off of Craigslist and minus a few teeth marks it’s in great shape and we still have money left over to get a dresser/changing table too! (the next stressor…finding/making bedding to go with it)

Life is going great, busy as it may be. Baby and me are growing at alarming rates, I have my 32 wk check up tomorrow. I'm getting really excited to be mom but it's kind of scary because then things will never slow down I have a feeling. Any ways I'm sure you've had enough. I know I have. Hopefully I can get a baby room together and post that it a the next month!

San Diego and more!

Baby bump shot, this was taken over a week ago at 24wks, she's growing so fast lately. It's flying by, less than 15wks left!! Still have a lot of preparing to do, hopefully I don't drive Jon crazy by the time she gets here. Had my first bout of swollen feet, I think it's sitting at a desk all day. They've gone away this weekend but I'm sure they'll be back. Bring it on pregnancy! She's kicking tons and we're getting really excited to meet her. We have our 3D ultrasound next month on the 20th, can't wait!San Diego is exactly what the Doctor ordered for this summer heat. We were lucky to be able to go to Jon's brother Billy and his beautiful wife Caitlin's wedding to see them sealed last week at the San Diego Temple. We turned it into a fun long weekend with the Barnes Family and some friends. The weather and wedding were perfect.

Friday after all the wedding happenings we went down to Mission Beach w/ all the family in town and Kassidi and Nate were able to come with their kiddos.

Saturday we went La Jolla beach , not much sun but still nice to get out, Mason continued to make friends w/ strangers haha. Then we met up w/ the Ray's for dinner who were vacationing with their boys in San Diego too. Sorry no photos but it was good seeing them before they headed back to San Antonio for their last year of law school woo hoo.

Sunday we stopped by Tempestt's place to meet her sweet little girl Brielle. She's a doll! After a weekend of constantly being around kiddos I was starting to get a little nervous about being a parent but seeing a sweet newborn girl I feel like I'm ready for at least that much.

Lake Powell 2010

Lake Powell is one of the greatest vacations if you like the lake swimming, wakeboarding, wave runners, cliff jumping, tubing, fishing, sight seeing, dancing, food and more food, and laughing with the crazy Fulmer family. We were missing a good portion of them this year but it was still a blast. I also couldn't really do anything due to the baby but it was still fun.View from our house boat! Lake Powell is gorgeous!

Summer's in Full Swing!

Here's the money shot!
First things first, we found out two weeks ago that we are having a precious baby GIRL!! I'm super excited and am ready to start buying fabric to make cute little outfits for her!

We'll I should really post more often so it's not so much in one post but here's a quick flash of what's been going on in the past few months. Yesterday I got to meet up with my old ASU girls for some lunch at Crackers our usual meeting place. So fun catching up as you can see two of us have little girls and two more are pregnant w/ girls. Katie K. I know will be right on our tails w/ another baby. Love these girls!
For Memorial Day weekend we were able to have a quick visit from Jon's good friends he met at BYU Hawaii John and Amanda, they came and stayed w/ us for the night. They are so fun we're hoping to visit them in Oregan soon!
For the rest of the weekend we got to escape the heat and go out to our grandparents cabin in Alpine w/ our fun friends Bobbie and Brian! We're so glad you guys could come and little Finn didn't come early. It was a nice relaxing weekend minus my creepy movie selections. Don't ever watch Lovely Bones. I've been to Alpine countless time but this was the first time anyone has ever swam in Luna Lake, Brian was training for his triathlon.

We're joining the ranks of parenthood! That's right we're expecting and we're super excited. I'm due December 4th. I had my second appointment yesterday and got this cute little pic of the little guy. It was kicking it's little legs and it felt much more real this time seeing it than the last time when it was just a little peanut. I've already got a little pooch which I thought wasn't supposed to happen so soon but it's fine as long as the baby is healthy and happy so am I. I've also felt really great which I won't talk about too much in fear of being jinxed down the road. But I'm so happy that the only real thing that plagues me is tiredness.
I'm excited I get to join the hundreds of girls I know who are currently pregnant or recently delivered. Which reminds me we just got a new niece Whitney this week Jon's sister Jenny had their second little girl. So her and baby should be less than 7months apart, fun! Also next month on June 16th we should be able to find out what we're having!

In other news I started a new job a little over a month ago for a wellness company as a telephonic health coach. I'm still in training but so far it's going pretty good they're a great company, I'm hoping they're not too upset when I break the news about baby. I'm just nervous about my butt getting larger than necessary since I sit a computer for the majority of the day!! Hopefully I can get a better work out routine down.

So all in all life is GREAT! I have a job and now a our little addition is on the way. We are really blessed and are so greatful for everything the Lord has blessed us with.

Other events that happen during the month of April. I had my 25th birthday, yikes a quarter of a century. It was fun, a little stressful since I started working that same week.Me still thinking I just had the flu. Totally clueless. Doesn't it show?

Easter happened. That was the joyous weekend we discovered the little secret brewing in my uterus."The Spill" ha sorry we didn't help Nicki and just laughed. I also threw a baby shower for our friends in Glendale Ashley and Mike. I've also attended about a million other baby showers. : ) I'm sure many other things happened I'm just tired to think right now.

Loving the Springtime!

March sure did go by fast but it was full of a lot of fun and adventure. I think everyone loves Arizona in the Springtime it's such amazing weather! I hope the weather lasts a little while before we start to get roasted.
Melissa and Aug came out for a visit pre foot disaster and we had fun going out to eat and watching a movie.
Jon headed up the Midwestern Group for the Tour de Cure ride for Diabetes. Him and Mike E. finished in the top 10 of their riding group of over 400 people. They were pretty happy with how they rode. Mike says he's going to be pro biker and have dentistry be a back up. ha He kills me. I would never let Jon get his hopes up that high about biking. Me, Jon, Mike, and Ashley. Me and Ashley followed them around the whole 63 mile race to take pictures but I could never really get down the high speed pictures.

Then to continue with the wonderful weather we went to a Spring Training game with Bobbie and Brian from our ward and two of their friends from school Brian and Heather. I don't think I watched more than one or two plays the whole game. We had a lot of fun, we rode our cuiser bikes to the game, I wish I'd gotten a picture of us on the bikes we looked pretty funny.

Another fun March activity is Crawfish Thursdays at Pappaduex. We went with a group of Jon's classmates, Jenny is from Louisianna and introduced us to it. We got two pounds of Crawfish to eat. I had a lot of first that night: Crawfish-not bad kind of like shrimp but not as good; Oysters-just tasted like a slimmy gulp of salt water; Crab cakes-pretty good they had a good sauce with it; and Fried Pickles-this I loved I always forget how much I love plain pickles.

March also brings back the annual OdontoBlast Prom!

How embarrising for Ashley to be pregnant at Prom, a girls worst nightmare. : ) After prom some of Jon's single buddies from school came over with their dates for a little juxuzi action. We just started using our juxuzi and it works great too bad Jon can't handle the heat for very long.

In March I also hiked Thunderbird Hills a few times. Once with Katie M. and Bobbie and Millie (Bobbie's doggie). It was so nice out, we had a good time. Then another time last weekend Cha and Brittney and I jogged it, it was a little rough but we did it. Then we laid out and caught some rays and went to the race track to watch a few of my dad's horses. We were hoping to get in winners circle pic but he only got 3rd both races. Next time dad!

I finished reading These is My Words. I loved it! It was so good I would definitely recommend it there was always some action, love, and history. I never did get to Pillars of the Earth and it's due back tomorrow I think I'll have to try that one some other time. I'm reading The Time Travelers Wife and it's ok. I can't seem to really get into it, I don't really like the guy that much.

Our most recent adventure was our family trip to California for The Price is Right. We definitely got our highest hopes fulfilled. My cousin Rainer got on and WON the Showcase Showdown! We could believe it. He got called down to contestants row with the very first 4 contestants but didn't get up until the 4th game by bidding $1 for some camping gear. His game was kind lame he was supposed to pick the same price of a this watch between three other items. He didn't get it but it was ok cuz the prizes were kind of lame. But he had to spin the wheel first and got 75cents with two spins. The other lady went over and the other one didn't get enough! So he went on to the showcase got past the first showcase which was a trip to Thialand, a sailboat, and a parasailing thing, he bid $25,000. The lady had a chance to win some awesome Mac computers and tvs, a trip to space camp (the Price is Right is so random), and a Nissan 350Z, she bid $39,555. Rainers actual retail price was $31,500 (about) so he was over $6,000 under. Her actual retail price was about $48,000 so she was over $8,000 under so Rainer WON! We all ran up on the stage and jumped in the sailboat! It was hilarious. Well worth the waking up at 3 in the morning waiting in line then standing around until the 12 o'clock taping. We made up shirts that said Drew's Crew with my dad's face with glasses on (since his name is Drew and Drew Carey is the host) then put on the bottom We have our game faces on! Rainer was definitely the loudest one in our group when we did our interviews I think that's why he got picked, since we had a bigger group with 16 people I think really increased our chances of one of us getting picked. Drew Carey was pretty funny he was cracking jokes during the commercial breaks.

We also enjoyed two days at the beach before the gameshow. We went to Newport the first day and it was totally over populated and we were definitely the minority. We felt so claustraphobic. At least the weather was pretty nice. Then the next day we spent at Huntington and that was much better since they have alot more beach and nicer shops to shop at. We played boche ball and beach volleyball, had some chocolate malts from Ruby's on the end of the pier yummm, and did a little shopping. The best was when my dad dove head first in the sand when we were playing volleyball, we were dying laughing. I didn't really get any shots of us at the beach hopefully I can get some from Cha who I know took a ton. Overall a really fun trip just a little low on sleep and now I got sick I think from Dillon coughing nonstop in the car. I also wish Jon could of made it, he would have had fun.

So yet again another marathon post. Hope you enjoyed it. Does anyone else feel like if they didn't take pictures of what they did they would forget about it. ha I'm glad cameras exist. Can't wait for Easter/Conference Weekend. Happy Easter Weekend!

Hello 2010!

I have to say I've been having blogger anxiety lately. Every time I go to post I get stressed that I have to post all the going ons of the past two months so I get overwhelmed and stop myself but I'm putting an end to it right now (don't worry you didn't miss much)!
Here's the highlights:

January

Studied the majority of the month then PASSED my RD exam and made it official I'm a Registered Dietitian! Sometimes I wonder how I ended up in this field but figure a little nutrition never hurt anyone. Congrats to all my other girlfriends who passed as well I'm so proud of us!
Did a little playing since I wasn't working went snowboarding for a half day up in Snowbowl with Cha.
Went to Supercross for the first time with Jon's classmate Mike and his wife Ashley. We sat one row from the very top! It was pretty fun.
Read the Hunger Games and Catching Fire TWICE (once again no job or kids). They were really good and I can't wait for the third one to come out at the end of the year.
Kass came to visit with the kiddos when she ran her first 1/2 Marathon. Good job girl your my exercise idol! I taught Julia how to turn her socks inside out and Jon taught her the "I HAVE THE POWER" slogan from his HE-MAN dvd his mom gave him for Christmas. She's such a kooky girl.

February

Cha's birthday we had dinner with my dad's crazy sisters and cousin in town.
Valentines Day Jon and I painted pottery something I've always wanted to do together and he was always shutting me down. He suggested it and really enjoyed! and his pottery came out way better than mine : ) I usually take a few days to do a piece but since we wanted to finish it in a few hours I couldn't perform. Oh well it was still a lot of fun.

Hung out with the nieces and in laws when Jenny and Sierra came to town.

Went hiking with some of the girls down at Peralta Trail. I've also been trying to jog Thunderbird Hills right behind my house. I do alright but the really steep parts I just have to hike. I want to get better at jogging but it doesn't work when you only do it a few times a month.

Made some cute curtains (with the help of my lovely talented mother) for my bathroom. Now we're working on making some for the front dining room and sitting room so you can't see everything we're doing in the house. I'll try to get some pictures up when they're all done.
Started working with Nutrition Alliance again except this time as a Dietitian and making better money doing almost the same thing just higher risk and more responsibility. It's only part time and temporary...not sure how long but I'm still looking for something more full time but no one seems to want to hire me. I had a few job interview with some school districts got one of the jobs but the pay was a little insulting so I turned it down. Being new in the field is so frustrating. Hopefully I'll find something soon or get pregnant but that isn't happening since my period has been missing in action. Only two periods since September when I stopped taking birth control but no baby. When do I start to worry?
Jon rode in first bike race, he's done rides before but never a race, let just say things didn't go as planned but it was a good experience for him and his riding buddy Mike.

Went to a high school friend Katie's wedding, it was gorgeous! It rained the entire day right up until the ceremony then continued raining about 20 minutes after. It went as smoothing as one would hope for a rainy outdoor wedding.

5th Year Anniversary!! Jon is my bestest friend and we've had a really good time growing together. To think back to dating and Newlywed stuff kind of makes me feel old but it's fun being a little aged in the marriage arena. We had a nice night in Jon made dinner and bought me some pink roses and See's candy yum that was gone by the next morning...I want some chocolate right now why did I not get some while I was at the store today. boo

Just had my monthly Bunco night last night with the girls out in Glendale. I'm so happy I joined it really is such a fun way to make friends. The skill of Bunco is not how well you can roll dice but how well you can roll dice, add, carry on a conversation, and eat snacks.

Joining a few book clubs this month which ought to be exciting! I also just got a library card today from the Agave Phoenix Library down the street from us. It's pretty new and modern looking I'm excited to have some reading adventures there. I just got These is My Words and The Pillars of the Earth (which is quite lengthy 800+pgs so I hope I can get through it) from recommendations from Jody and Jon's cousin Kendy.

Well if you read the whole thing I commend you for your efforts. I guess I was needing to journal more than I thought. I used to journal in my room every Sunday growing up. I remember locking my door and getting my journal from it's hiding place in my closet (obviously not that good of a hiding place since Charlcie was reading it and telling Jon my secrets but I got back at her by reading her missionary letters last week haha missionary letters those were always fun).
